If your college of choice is not listed, come by the Career Center for assistance in obtaining a scholarship application. Each entry below contains the name of scholarship, criteria for eligibility, deadline for application, and the amount of award.

  • CO-STEP Scholarship
    • Criteria: All seniors; must be enrolled in a college within 1 year of winning scholarship.
    • Deadline: None
    • Amount: Varies
  • Essay Contest on Ayn Rand's Novel THE FOUNTAINHEAD
    • Criteria: 11th & 12th graders; must write 800-1,600 word essay; from a selection of 3 topics based on Ayn Rand's novel THE FOUNTAINHEAD
    • Deadline: April 15
    • Amount: $50-$10,000
  • Holocaust Remembrance Project
    • 1, 200 word essay "why it is so vital tat the remembrance history and lessons of the Holocaust be passed to a new generation" -- may submit essay online at www.holocaust.hklaw.com; do not submit your essay online and via the mail; choose only one method.
    • Deadline: April 15
    • Amount: $100-500
  • Mano A Mano Scholarship Endowment Program
    • Senior; must attend Del Mar, TAMU-Corpus Christi or Kingsville; plan to pursue degree relating to local industry; plan to seek employment in Corpus Christi petrochemical, port or supporting industries following graduation; transcript; letter of recommendation; also may apply online at www.mano-a-mano.org.
    • Deadline: April 29
    • Amount: $1,500 (2-yr college) or $2,000 (4 yr. college)
  • MEET - Texas State Scholarship Program (Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Technology)
    • Criteria: Senior; must attend Texas State University; must enroll full-time as a manufacturing engineering or engineering technology major; essay; three letters of recommendation
    • Deadline: June 30
    • Amount: $3,000/annually
  • Ozarka Natural Spring Water "Ever Drop Count" Earth Scienc Scholarship Fund
    • Criteria: U.S. citizen; Texas resident; 3.0 GPA; major in Earth/Environmental Sciences at a 4-year college or university; not employees or related to employees of Nestle Waters of North America of Ozarka.
    • Deadline: April 18
    • Amount: $10,000
  • Salute to Education Scholarship Program
    • Criteria: All seniors; must be enrolled within 1 year of winning scholarship; ; information online at www.alsformalwear.com/2004-scholarship-rules.asp or call 1-800-460-8500; applications available at Al’s Formal Wear and Ascot Tuxedos locations.

  • Texas A&M - Corpus Christi (others available)

2005 USTA Tennis & Education Foundation College Scholarship Program

  • Criteria: Be a part of the USTA or similar group; transcript; ACT/SAT; essay, FAFSA; additional information may be required as scholarships vary

American Fire Sprinkler Association "National Scholarship Essay Contest"

American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE)

  • Criteria: Senior; planning to pursue a college degree in the safety; fire, health, or environmental fields; 500 words or less paper; church or community activites; transcript

  • Criteria: Senior; must apply for admissions to an Art Institute. Other art scholarships are available.

Barbara Jordan Historical Essay Competition

  • 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders; historical essay; no less than 1,500 and no more than 2,500 words in length; essay theme: "The African American in Texas: Past and Present"

Coca-Cola Scholar Program

Corpus Christi Association of Legal Professionals

  • Senior; transcript of at least a "B" average; signed letter from student stating why he/she would like to pursue a career in the legal field; recommendation from counselor or principal; signed letters from two person to substantiate qualifications and financial need.
